History

Restoration Fellowship Tabernacle was founded by Pastors Stan & Robin Rayford in 2000 as they conducted a rich study of the Hebrew Tabernacle in their home. Although this was to be a bible study only, after a few months many of those participating began to suggest the planting of a church. Then, there were several prophetic words and dreams suggesting the same. In obedience to the word of the Lord, an interdenominational church was founded in the Rayford home. It was proposed by the founding pastors and agreed upon by the board of directors that the church would be called Restoration Fellowship Tabernacle.

The vision which was agreed upon by the board was that Restoration Fellowship Tabernacle would be a “Christ led; Word based; Spirit filled; Worship centered; Soul winning; Body building; Missions minded; Praying without ceasing church.” In January 2001 the church moved from the Rayford home into the banquet room of Milt’s Gourmet Barbecue on Kelly Road, Detroit. Three years later, in 2004, the board of directors agreed to purchase the church building at 16776 Southfield Freeway Service Drive, on the west side of Detroit on the interior street corners of Fenmore and Grove. The vision of the church remains the same with one summarizing update which has become our ministry focus: “Renewing Minds; Restoring Lives.”
